The positions below are part-time unless otherwise noted:
Editor-in-chief
The editor-in-chief is the manager of any of our print or digital publications, from physical magazines, and guides to online magazines. The editor-in-chief helps determine the content of the publication, with the publisher having the final say in what is published and what isn’t, and leads the publication’s team of editors, and writers. The editor-in-chief is always in the highest position in an editorial. The editor-in-chief job is not an entry-level position; there are several skills and qualifications that can only be earned and learned over the course of a long career in journalism in order to be a strong candidate. The Editor-in-chief has creative vision editorial skills , s trong leadership , strong interpersonal skills, and can work virtually to name a few.
Part-time, 5-10 hours a week (based on experience).
Editors
We are seeking an eager individual who is in charge of and determines the final content of the text in categories from arts, business, politics, travel, food, style, etc.,. Paid duties will range from weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly editorial tasks (writing, podcasts, etc.,) who can work virtually to play a key role in ongoing editorial growth.
Part-time, 5-10 hours a week (based on experience).
Executive Assistant
Executive Assistant has more than administrative duties. They filter and prioritize client visits or phone calls, and communicate on behalf of the publisher. Other responsibilities include: Providing administrative assistance, such as writing and editing e-mails, drafting memos, preparing communications on the publisher’s behalf, maintaining comprehensive and accurate records, performing minor accounting duties, organizing meetings, including scheduling, sending reminders, and organizing catering when necessary, answering phone calls in a professional manner, welcoming and identifying the purpose of their visit before directing them to the appropriate department, and managing the publisher’s calendar, including making appointments and prioritizing the most sensitive matters in person and virtually.
Part-time, 5-10 hours a week (based on experience).
Contributors
We are seeking eager videographers, photographers, writers, and editors with great editing and writing chops who are ready to contribute to the continued growth and success of one of the web’s largest Harlem sites. Paid duties will range from weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly editorial tasks (writing, podcasts, etc.,) can work virtually to play a key role in ongoing editorial growth.
Part-time, Monthly, Quarterly, and annually.
